The bandage on her left knee is there because bandages are what the Light Blue Soul uses to heal you against Omega Flowey, so it seemed fitting. Notes: Originally, I designed Penelope with a blue ribbon to match her Soul color, but I then realized the ribbon is one of the few items with an in-game sprite, and recolored it accordingly. When properly awakened, those who embody patience become able to perceive the world as though time itself were as patient and slow to act as they themselves are. A person embodying patience is slow to act, but when they do, they do so decisively. Power: Patience is the capacity to accept or tolerate delay, trouble, or suffering without getting angry or upset. Penelope was one of the Souls used in Alphys’s Determination experiments. It is because Penelope died to one of the Ruin’s puzzles that Toriel doesn’t want the children to attempt them alone. When Toriel learned that, for months, a human child had been living in the Ruins, she resolved to search the entirety of the place every single day so that no child, should another ever fall, would be left alone in the deadly place again. She would later be found by one of the monsters there, who brought her still-living Soul to King Asgore. While she survived there for several months, perhaps even years, she eventually fell to one of the many traps that lay within the walls. Inspired by discussions I've had with Cylent-Nite involving a potential crossover between Undertale and Steven Universe! Even though they were inspired by crossover talk, the backgrounds I've constructed for the six souls other than Chara work just as well even without that context.
